I have been in a strange state of suspended animation, feeling as if my life was on hold and yet somehow rushing past me. The last year has been one of change and uncertainty and I have been holding my breath until the dust settled. Yet all that breath holding left me dizzy and I’ve decided I can’t go on waiting. I have to live and do so without hesitancy and fear. I will be sharing more in the coming weeks, but I’ll leave you below with words from one of my favorite authors John O’Donohue the author of “To Bless the Space Between Us“, “Anam Cara“, and many other works filled with Celtic blessings.

"For Solitude"

May you recognize in your life the presence, power, and light of your soul.

May you realize that you are never alone,
that your soul in its brightness and belonging
connects you intimately with the rhythm of the

May you have respect for your individuality and

May you realize the the shape of your soul is
that you have a special destiny here,
that behind the facade of your life
there is something beautiful and eternal happening.

May you learn to see your self
with the same delight,
pride, and expectation
with which God sees you in every moment.

The fields of Southern California are full, full, full of wild mustard right now. Every time I drive through the Santa Rosa Valley I keep wanting to stop and do a quick photo shoot. Today I grabbed my camera as we rushed out the door and my obliging 6 year old let me snap a few photos. What a change from a few years ago when she would run screaming from the camera!

My younger daughter has been extremely, ahem “spirited” lately, so maybe 4 is just an intense age. But oh so magical! I promise to share some photos of her dancing with her butterfly wings. She has been wearing them all day, every where. Living in a dream world is absolutely the way to live a happy life. Butterflies and rainbows and flowers really are the best things in life.

I have been holding onto a Spirograph set until I thought my daughter could use it without too much frustration. Today seemed like the day–she has really been enjoying it. I might have to play with it tonight while she’s sleeping…

Liz and Abel met in Japan and started their married life together overseas.

Now overseas again, this time halfway around the world in Italy, they are embarking on their next adventure: parenthood!

I can’t wait to meet their baby in a few weeks!
